Welcome!

Generations Church is a multi-generational, multi-cultural spiritual family that has been part of the community of Nanaimo since 1922. We have recently changed our name, so if you don't recognize Generations Church, we understand! We were called ET Family Church and the 'ET' stood for 'Evangelistic Tabernacle', which was the 'official' name for our church until 2013.

We are affiliated with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, a Fellowship of more than 1,100 churches across Canada with more that 3,500 pastors and ministry leaders in Canada and over 300 global workers in 60+ countries around the world committed to the 1.5 billion who have never heard about Jesus. WHAT ARE we ALL ABOUT?

Our purpose can be summed up in three simple words from the Bible:

Love
Jesus said, "You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment." (Matthew 22:37-38) We love God with all our hearts through passionate worship, faithful obedience, and an infectious desire to share his love with everyone.

Serve
We want to live like Jesus. "For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give His life as a ransom for many." (Mark 10:45) We live our lives for others by serving our families, our community and our church through the power the Holy Spirit gives to us.

Grow
The Bible says we "must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ." (2 Peter 3:18) We gather together to help each other grow strong in faith, grow in grace, and grow to be more like Jesus.

We would love to have you check us out and find a meaningful place to connect. If you have questions about our church, let us know. We are here to serve you.

We are a “come as you are” church, so you'll see all kinds of people and all kinds of styles. But mostly we're pretty casual, so no pressure to dress up or worry about not fitting in.

What will we do? What can I expect?

We start with celebration - singing with a live band. There will be prayer, and then a talk from the Bible that will be understandable and practical. We will also take an offering to support all the ministries of Generations Church - but no pressure to give! If you want to check out one of the messages, you can find them here.

Will you embarrass me?

Absolutely not! We will not single you out, ever - but we do want you to feel welcome! We think you'll find people are very friendly.

Do you have something for kids?

Absolutely! We have a fully staffed Nursery and Kidzone for children birth through Grade 5. Everyone starts in the main auditorium and then the kids are dismissed right after the announcements. Find out more about Kidzone here.

What if I only want to come once?

No problem. There is no commitment to "join the church", so feel free to come check us out. Of course we'd love to have you come back, but that's your call. Come as often as you want, and when you're ready, fill out a Welcome Card and we will connect with you.
