study groups - spring 2019

Learning together can add so much more than just knowledge to your life!

"I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ's return." (Phil 1:9,10 NLT)

  • We are an outgoing group of varying ages, with shift workers, career women, moms and grandmas. We value an open, safe, confidential, grace-filled environment where people can learn about applying scripture to their lives while sharing their experiences, both positive and challenging, with other women who want to build each other up in Christ. We keep our studies based on the Bible or Christian growth. We have an active prayer chain and do our best to support each other outside of our Tuesday meetings.

Host: Darlene Nagy and Karalee Gillespie

    When: Tuesdays at 7:00pm

    Where: Generations Church

    Cost: varies, depending on materials

  • This group is open to all foster and adoptive parents, grandparents, caregivers, respite workers, or anyone who works with or cares for children from hard places. Meeting monthly, we'll learn and build on the principles of the Empowered To Connect methodology to equip our caregiver journey while spending time encouraging and supporting one another.

    Host: Shauna Jenkins

When: last Monday of each month at 6:30pm

    Where: Theatre at Generations Church

  • Anxiety is at an all time high. In this video series, Max Lucado shows us the prescription for dealing with it. He points to Philippians 4:6-7 where the Apostle Paul writes, "Do not be anxious about anything..." Lucado says, "The presences of anxiety is unavoidable, but the prison of anxiety is optional. With God's helps you will learn to face the calamities of life. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you will learn to view bad news through the lens of sovereignty; to discern the lies of Satan and tell yourself the truth. Anxiety comes with life. But it doesn't have to dominate your life." Along with each half-hour video, we'll have time for discussion and prayer.

Hosts: Nicole Tomkins and Suzi Johansson

When: Tuesdays from 7:00 to 8:30pm, starting April 30th

    Where: Departure Bay area
